Digicomp

Marlow Camera Club have decided not to continue with Digicomp. We ran it for six years and believe that it helped stimulate local interest in the photographic techniques and creative possibilities of digital technology.

We received an enormous entry in 2006 and felt that the only way forward would be to introduce tighter entry criteria or some form of pre-judging which would make Digicomp too formal. As the CACC is starting its 'Strictly Digital' competition this year and many clubs now run open competitions, we feel that Digicomp's job is done.

Thank you for helping make it such a success.

We would also like to thank Phil Stapleton, one of our members, who had the original idea in 2001 for the competition. His enthusiasm and energy, together with the PhotoCompviewer software he produced, underpinned the success of the competition.
